This
manifesto expresses the principles that support prophetic art, and the
spiritual frames to truly name a piece of art as prophetic.
We believe that prophetic art is the visual, sonorous, object, sensory and conceptual expression and representation of the person and will of Christ upon a place and people in a specific time. In this way, we’ d say that prophetic art cannot rely just on one artist / prophet’s soul because the heart is not infallible and it must be transformed. The artist /prophet´s heart hast to be measured and examined by the church from a spiritual understanding.
According to Revelation (19:10), any prophetic manifestation comes to give testimony of Jesus, so to make known and specific truth. It is revealed in the spirit, and it is manifested to the natural world throughout the work of art.
Throughout the piece of art, the artist joins heaven and heart’s will, and because of it the piece becomes something truly prophetic. It is a prophetic action. We declare that prophetic art is based on revelation, and you get it when you worship to God in an intimate way (contemplation). In these times, the artist must perceive the spiritual reality and what God wants to be represented or presented from the Spirit.
We accept as true that the artist can be considered as a prophet, and he / she is able to perceive the mind and thoughts of the Spirit of God from his / her own spirit without any drug to decrease or reduce the levels of consciousness. As a consequence, the artist has to be really careful with the revelation that he / she receives. He/ she cannot infect and contaminate it. He / she has to give the right emphasis to the work of art to have a piece that manifests justice.
Having all these in mind, we´d say that the artistic strategies are free inside prophetic art, in any discipline (painting, sculpture, sounds, theatre, literature, dance, performance, narrations, etc. but they have to be conceived from values based on biblical principles. They cannot be against biblical principles.
